raising bamboo

I understand some bamboo is considered invasive. Where can I find information on farming bamboo? I'm wondering what kinds of bamboo can be legally & profitably farmed. Is there a USDA sub-section, committee or focus group? And I just thought: given all the new tariff wars on China it might be better if the US became bamboo import free and grew our own. Thanks for any guidance,
