There is an Apple tree growing amongst the blackberries in a patch behind our new home (on City land). It’s a late bloomer and profuse producer of little tablespoon sized fruit. I’d like to plant an apple tree in our yard and wonder if this ‘neighbor’ tree could be it’s pollinator.
Washington County Oregon plant identification
Thank you for your question. This plant appears to be a variety of crabapple, which is described here: https://s3.wp.wsu.edu/uploads/sites/2080/2014/02/Crabapple.pdf Here is a second Extension article about apple pollinizers: http://treefruit.wsu.edu/orchard-management/pollination/ Hope these are helpful!
