String of pearls, unhealthy?

Asked September 21, 2018, 8:10 PM EDT

My string of pearls plant was growing awesomely! It was a Lucius green and contiuous babies were growing. Now it’s gone a dark green coulour, the pearls are somewhat squishy, and have all changed into a triangle shape. The end of the string with the babies growing has turned purple! Help.

Thank you for your question. I cannot tell from the information you have provided what conditions the plant is living in, nor the care you have given it. The plant is a succulent. and needs little watering. What type of soil is it in? Does the container drain? The major cause of succulents becoming “squishy” is overwatering. Perhaps you can read the following article to see what you might have missed: http://chemung.cce.cornell.edu/resources/care-of-non-hardy-cacti-and-succulents Good luck!
