Fall kale planting

Asked September 19, 2018, 9:51 AM EDT

I have been having a problem with planting my fall kale.. It comes up fine but then typically dies off. I don't have that problem in the spring. I am wondering if it is some sort of fungus and what I can put on it to prevent that from happening. I believe I have used garden Sulphur in the past?

We cannot say for sure what is going on. This has been a really wet season. If conditions were wet when the seeds germinated, this may be an issue. It is not too late to replant. No chemical controls are recommended. Please send us photos if you notice additional symptoms. Here is our page on leafy greens http://extension.umd.edu/hgic/learn/leafy-greens
