Sumac winter care

Asked September 12, 2018, 8:48 AM EDT

My Sumac has done wonderfully this summer. It was planted in May of last year, but very much smaller than you see in this picture. I'm looking for any tips you might have on winter care to give it the best chance of survival. Tks

Tiger eye sumac is a hardy plant here in central MN. It requires no special winter protection. In the spring, there may some branches that are dead and can be pruned off, but they are usually quickly replaced by new growth.

Thank you
