Resupplying Magnesium levels to our soils

Asked September 6, 2018, 7:02 PM EDT

I have been reading that about 80% of people in the U.S. are Magnesium deficient. Looking at fertilizers used, even in organic farming, nothing is said about reintroducing magnesium to the soil and yet it is critical to health. What can be done about this?

Magnesium deficient soils are more of an issue on acidic soils and our soils are alkaline.

If a soil test shows a need then add magnesium sulfate.
