cold symptoms caused by ant bite?

Asked August 28, 2018, 1:23 AM EDT

So my house has black carpenter ants, like every house ever, but I always find myself getting bit by them. Finding those little red bumps on my legs and arms after I wake up in the morning. Not a lot, usually one or two, but very annoying.
I got a particularly bad one on my right leg, and the same day I discovered it I started having cold symptoms (runny nose, sore throat, etc). Are these two unrelated things? Am I just happening to get sick around the same time I find this bite? Or could have I developed an allergy?? Thank you for reading, and I hope to hear a reply soon.
