Emerald Ash Borer

Asked August 24, 2018, 8:46 AM EDT

I have several large ash trees and I am wondering if there is anything I can do to save them from the Ash Borer and if so who can perform a treatment in my area. Thank you. Glenn Martin

If he trees are healthy and not already dying. Arbormectin is a good injectable to use. It works in 1-2 weeks . A soil drench of Imidacloprid may take up to 4 weeks to be absorbed and become active. It will most likely be the cheapest method to choose. The Coop has it in stock. You can probably get Jimmy or his son Jason to do a soil drench. If you want to treat the tree by injection you will need to use an arborist. Mark Weaver might be a good resource to help you find a person to treat the trees, and source the chemical.
