What type of snake is this?
It appears to be an eastern milksnake, which is often mistaken as a copperhead. There is a V-shape stripe near the head that is commonly found in these snakes. These are great snakes to have around as they hunt mice, rats, and other nuisance animals. The eastern milksnake is not considered to be venomous.
