Hostas discoloration

Asked August 22, 2018, 12:47 PM EDT

These hostas are near climbing roses recovering from black spots. I'm hoping they too can be helped. I'm guessing they're suffering from the same issues. Please advise. Regards, Kevin Goharian

No, these hostas are not suffering from black spot. How much sun do they get? The leaves look the are scorched from the sun. Please see the following page from our website,

You should prune out the scorched leaves this will improve the overall appearance of the hostas. This is not an unusual occurrence for hostas this late in the season and is not a serious problem.
