Squirrels

Asked August 17, 2018, 3:33 PM EDT

How can I keep squirrels out of my vegetable garden?? They are eating all my tomatoes!! I have used nets, hot pepper sauce on the small green tomatoes... tin foil tied on the plants to scare then , and a large bobble head owl!!! Nothing works ! I have grown lovely tomatoes in the past but this year , zero! I see them run away as I come out in the mornings . Please help.

Other than completely enclosing your vegetable garden, or tomatoes at least, with sturdy wire fencing, try this old tip:
sprinkle a light dusting of finely ground lime on your tomatoes. Squirrels will not want lime in their mouth or on their paws. Resprinkle after rains wash it off.
