Weed growing in my garden

Asked August 16, 2018, 12:39 PM EDT

Are you able to identify this weed for me? It seems to like the shade or part sun the best, and it is relatively easy to pull up. I would like an ID for it so I can get more info on it. Thanks!

This is Japanese stiltgrass. It is a foreign invasive grass. Hand pull it to prevent seed formation and dispersal. Bag plants that have gone to seed and put them in your trash. If the this is in your lawn, the most effective approach is to apply a crabgrass pre-emergent herbicide in early spring. You will want to choose a product with the specific ingredients that are most effective.
