Post harvest bleach dip for peaches

Read your article about Brown Spot on peaches and treating post harvest fruit with 10% bleach solution. Can Vinegar be substituted for the bleach? Thank you. Lauri Rager

the short answer is no. Vinegar even with it's acid pH of 4.5 is still a safe haven for food safety bacteria issues even listeria which likes an acid environment. Stick to bleach.
