Zucchini grows about an inch or two and then stops also powdery mildew on the leaves which I have treated with baking soda and dish detergent.thank you for any suggestions you can give me.

Although your plant’s lack of large zucchini could be due to a lack of sun, water and/or fertilizer, the powdery mildew is probably keeping the plant from producing food to grow the fruit. Research has found few home remedies to control it.
