Lawn woes

Asked July 24, 2018, 4:29 PM EDT

Hi! Large patches of my lawn are brown in spite of the several days of rain that we have had. It just does not look good. Attached are two pictures: a close-up and an overall picture of one of the patches of brown lawn. What is it? What can I do about it? Thank you!

This does not look like a disease or insect problem. Prior to the large amount of rainfall, it was hot and dry enough to cause your lawn to brown out. There is still the possibility that some of the grass will come back but it is questionable. This area most likely will need to be reseeded in the late summer - early fall.
