Are morning glories poisonous to pets?

Asked July 23, 2018, 1:49 PM EDT

Hi, I am wondering if morning glories are really poisonous and if so, would a dog or cat have to ingest a lot of the plant and the flowers, or would a small amount of plant material be dangerous?

According to the ASPCA, morning glory seeds can be toxic to cats and dogs if they are consumed in large quantities. https://www.aspca.org/pet-care/animal-poison-control/toxic-and-non-toxic-plants/morning-glory
