New yard

Asked July 22, 2018, 5:36 PM EDT

Moved into a new place with some beautiful mature trees. However they are close together and a lot of the inside shady side has dead branches... A few large evergreens that are dying on one side but look great on the other. Also a large evergreen on a corner that is becoming a line of sight hazard for people turning on to the adjacent street. Not sure about how to know what to cut and when. Any advice for who to turn too? In health. Josh malin

I would hire a certified arborist to prune these trees for you if you're not comfortable doing it yourself. Here is a publication from U of MN extension on how to hire a professional arborist: https://extension.umn.edu/es/node/13431
