Is this vine invasive/noxious

Asked July 20, 2018, 10:09 AM EDT

I have a woody type vine/ivy that volunteered in my back year. I let it go, it is pretty cover and looks good in fall. That said, it is really taking over, I wanted to find out if this is invasive or noxious - should I be getting rid of this or letting it go? I have cherry tree and lilacs in the area and have been clearing it away from those so far, but am wondering if this was a smart move or not ;-) THANKS!!! Brian Hines

This is Virginia Creeper, Parthenocissus quinquefolia, a woody vine that is native to the US, but can be aggressive. If you choose to keep in in your landscape, prune regularly to keep it in bounds.
