Trimming Linden Trees

Asked July 16, 2018, 9:38 AM EDT

Can Linden trees be trimmed now? I understand that February and March are usually the best months to trim most trees but if Lindens are out of control and interfering with the sidewalk and mowing can some trimming be done now?

This is not the ideal time to prune a tree. However, if the tree is becoming a nuisance and you aren't removing major branches, it should be ok to do some light pruning now. If it ever stops raining, just make sure that the tree is being watered sufficiently so you don't have additional stress on it. If you CAN wait, later in the summer or after leaf drop would be preferable.
