Catalpa Tree

Asked July 13, 2018, 4:53 PM EDT

I have a Catalpa that appears to be losing its leaves. Some that fell were already dead looking (dry brittle) but some are still green. I do not appear to see any insects/damage or anything that explains why this is happening. Some of the branches on the North side of the tree seem to be the ones losing the majority of the leaves. I live in Sherburne County and we have sandy soil. I don't exactly know how old it is. It is probably around 7-8 years. I have planted many Catalpa's since then, but none appear to be losing their leaves like this one is. I believe I noticed them dropping leaves 2-3 weeks ago? Thank you for any help you may be able to give me!

Could you send a photo of the tree? Has the tree been damaged on the trunk at all? Has it been dry?
