Pepper plants

Asked July 11, 2018, 6:44 PM EDT

What’s going on with my pepper plants? This started on a few plants and is now on most of my green pepper plants and seems to be spreading to my banana peppers. My tomato plants also seem to have the same problem. I have a large garden. What can I do?

It looks like a fungal infection, probably early blight. At this stage, treatment is difficult if not impossible. Prevention measures include crop rotation (don't plant tomatoes, potatoes or peppers in the same spot), careful sanitation and debris cleanup, good watering practices (no overhead watering or watering at night), plenty of air circulation, and so on.
