Honeysuckle vine not growing

Asked July 10, 2018, 9:18 PM EDT

I have planted a honeysuckle vine on an arbor and it is not growing. I have fertilized it and made sure the soil is not compact. It has ample light. I have not over watered it. the leaves look healthy.

It looks as though it was a rather small vine to start with. Honeysuckle vines often take a while to get adjusted. It may grow some later in the summer. It looks healthy. Sometimes it takes until the second year before much growth and then they grow quite fast.

I have planted several vines and they just stopped growing

The only other suggestion I can give you is the growing conditions. Either the soil or the sun/shade is not right for vines. It is late enough in the season now that you might as well just give your vine TLC for the rest of the year and see what happens next spring. If it survives the winter and sends out new shoots next spring, it is going to grow. If not, try something else. Sorry.
