When is the proper time to divide a clump of 'Little Zebra' ornamental grass? I live in Lewes, Sussex County. Thanks

Generally the high temperature months of July and August are not good times to dig up and divide the plants. Since the plants provide visual interest during fall and early winter they are best left alone during that period. In late winter the plants should be trimmed to about 4 inches. In early spring when the soil is workable and before the plants initiate growth is the best time to divide the plants.
