What to plant after harvest shallots and garlic

Asked July 5, 2018, 9:24 AM EDT

Good day. I just harvested shallots and some garlic from my garden. I also have onions in the same area that I have yet to harvest. What can I plant now that I removed shallots and garlic? Thank you.

You can plant Late crops of squash, beans, and cucumbers through the end of July. Perpetual spinach, red Malabar spinach, Swiss chard, leafy amaranth (callaloo), 'Vitamin Green', 'Tokyo Bekana', and sweet potato leaves are good heat tolerant salad greens.

You can also begin to think of fall vegetables. Seed for fall crops of broccoli, kale, turnip, and cauliflower should be sown in containers by the 3rd to 4th week in July.
