Please help identofy the type of lawn
we are planning to over seed the lawn during this coming Fall. But do not know what type of my current lawn is.
Would you please help to identofy what is the type of lawn ? so I can but the same type of grass seed for the over seeding.

This looks like turf type tall fescue. There are many cultivars. Take a look at our page on seeding and the list of Recommended Turfgrass Cultivars http://extension.umd.edu/hgic/lawns/lawn-renovation
