pole beans

Asked June 27, 2018, 11:16 AM EDT

The pole beans I am growing were doing fine until about a week ago. These are not hybrid beans. New growth leaves look damaged, but still green. Would appreciate any suggestions. Most new growth looks like this.

The puckering of the bean leaves may be due to bean common mosaic virus. There is no effective control of this disease. Most bush bean varieties are resistant to bean common mosaic virus. Most pole bean varieties (with the exception of Seychelles) are susceptible to bean common mosaic virus.

Bean common mosaic virus usually doesn't kill plants, but it may drastically reduce yields.
