Spruce trees turning brown at the top

Asked June 20, 2018, 7:49 PM EDT

I have a row of spruce trees (both blue and green) between myself and my neighbor as a natural privacy barrier. I noticed today that a few of them are turning brown at the top and am concerned that they may be dying. What could cause this and is there anything I can do to save them?

It is very possible that spider mites could be causing the problem. They are very active during this time of year. The only visual signs would be their fine webbing in the areas of damage. See the attached link
