Pear tree

Last year I purchased a pear tree and later realized it needed another pear tree to germinate. This year it is sending up sucker shoots. If I let these shoots grow will they suffice for another pear tree? Thank you, Mary

Sorry, but you need a different cultivar for proper pollination. Furthermore, the suckers may take many years - even decades - to produce pollen. However, if a nearby neighbor has a pear tree, that may suffice. Read here:
