tiny black bugs on raspberries

Asked June 18, 2018, 10:31 PM EDT

I have very very tiny skinny black bugs on my raspberries. They are less than 2 mm long and very skinny. They crawl around inside and outside the berries. They don't fly. What are they? And what can I do to prevent them.

Small thin black bugs could be thrips. Here is an artcle from University of California IPM Pest notes about thrips. Do they look like yours? Check the section on monitoring. http://ipm.ucanr.edu/PMG/PESTNOTES/pn7429.html
