Too hot to apply Moss treatment on roof?

Asked June 18, 2018, 8:29 PM EDT

I work for a small local company here in Oregon and like to use Moss-B-ware in liquid form with a spray tank. My concern is does it get too warm to apply treatment? I kind of assumed that what evaporates is the water and not the Moss treatment. I do you have my ODA commercial pesticide applicator license but have had difficulty with getting an answer from Lily Miller. Love you guys at Oregon State, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hey there -

You're right. The active ingredient, zinc sulfate, will not evaporate in the heat. Water will. The label says the product can be applied at any time of year, but it works best in the rainy season. I looked at the label for the product with EPA Reg. No. 10699-1. If that's not the right product, please reply with the right EPA Reg. No.

This time of year, the moss is already dying. It should be easy to kill!
Thanks for reaching out, and be safe!
