Is it beneficial to mow down June bearing strawberry plants after fruiting season?

Hello from Lake County, Thank you for giving me the opportunity to learn something new today. Apparently, yes, it is beneficial to mow down your June bearing strawberries after harvest is complete. First weed them well. Then make sure your mower is set to the highest level so there will be no damage to the crown. Thin the plants in each row, and fertilize. You can also narrow between rows.
