Meadow plant, is it a weed?

Asked June 14, 2018, 4:00 PM EDT

Trying to ID this plant with hairy stem and leaves, leaves are opposite on a stem that can be maroon or green in color. It is growing in our meadow, should it stay or be removed?

This looks like one of the many plants in the aster family (very similar species) We'd recommend that you let it bloom and immediately send photos, so if it's good you can keep it and if it's not you can pull them all before they produce seeds.
