Is it too late to start growing black eye peas?

Hi good morning, I was wondering if it too late to start growing black eye peas in Maryland? If not do you suggest just planting them direct in my raised beds? Or putting on a wet paper towel in a ziploc to germinate 1st?

You should be able to direct seed them.
