Mock orange no longer has scent

Asked June 5, 2018, 1:52 PM EDT

Hello, I've had a mock orange shrub in my front yard in St. Paul for 10+ years. Its blossoms smelled fantastic most of that time, but last year and now again this one they have no scent at all. Any idea why? Thank you. -Marita Link The variety I have looks like this one: https://www.thompson-morgan.com/p/philadelphus-virginal/t68144TM

The lack of scent is probably due to the very hot weather while the flowers were developing. The shrub May need some fertilizer and regular watering this year to have enough stored food to be fragrant next year.
