Replanted 5 Black Hills Spruce 8 days ago,, there was no good rootball just exposed roots. Planted in black dirt water well one of the trees the tips are turning brown the other 4 look okay. Noticed the color changed in 4 days. Are the trees going to make it that I over water underwater them?

Those are big transplants. You are loosing this years new growth. Keep up with watering the trees, check the soil moisture every couple of days and when it is dry to a depth of two inches water them. Moist is good soggy bad. They will probably survive. Hope so they are pretty trees.

Thank you, will check them to make sure the ground is moisture not wet was it okay to plant them in just black dirt or should I have made a black dirt and sand mixture

It was fine to plant them in black dirt. Mulch them this year too.
