Growths on Marquette Grapevines

Asked June 4, 2018, 1:45 PM EDT

When checking my vines today I noticed these projections on all of the vines. What should I do about it. We have about 20 vines in our yard. I would appreciate any guidance you can give me.

These are aerial roots forming on your vines. They may be stimulated to grow because of freeze injury and/or very wet and humid conditions. You can read more about this phenomenon in the following articles.

There is nothing you need to do. As the article from Cornell University indicates, the aerial roots will eventually dry up and go away.
