Mushrooms in mulch beds

Asked June 3, 2018, 8:25 AM EDT

This is the first time that I can remember of having mushrooms sprouting up all over in my mulch beds. There is a lot of shade in these areas where the growing the most. Is there anything I can do to get rid of them and will they impact the growth of other plants around them such as spruce trees, hosta’s, astilbe and sedum?

The mushrooms will disappear as soon as the mulch dries out. The mushrooms will not hurt the plants. Mushrooms indicate the mulch is very wet. Make sure the soil is not soggy underneath. If it is pull back the mulch until the soil dries to "moist".

Thanks, I will turn over the mulch to help dry it out. Appreciate the quick response.
