Applying zinc sulfate

Asked June 2, 2018, 11:26 AM EDT

What is the rate of zinc sulfate per gallon of water to use as a folier spray on to be used on young pecan trees to keep from burning the leaves. I have 2 young trees that have black leaf tips, not sure What is wrong. I am deep root watering them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated .

It's hard to say what your issues are with your trees that are causing the black tips without seeing the tree and knowing your fertilizer regimen and other cultural practices. As far as Zinc helping, it definitely should be a beneficial spray for you.I can't give you a rate since there are so many different formulations both organic and inorganic. As always, the best suggestion is to follow the label directions and if anything err a little on less than more!!!
