Cactus
To whom it may concern:
I recieved this cactus last year. I was told it's an orchid cactus, but after looking at pictures I'm not sure. So I guess I'm curious as to what species it is exactly and what the best care for it would be? I have it on the mantel in a room with an east facing window. It started to grow sprouts this spring and then all growing progress suddenly started to dwindle.

From what you are describing, the issue is most likely environmental. For environment, make sure the light requirements are met and the plant is not being overwatered
