Howard County Maryland creeping jenny holes in foliage groundcover

The holes in the foliage are typically caused by a type of sawfly larvae. You can look for this. Creeping jenny is a tough plant. It is possible most of the damage may be done. This plant is pretty hardy and the new growth should rebound. You may need to do some light pruning. We recommend that you monitor the plant and handpick the sawflies and drop into a bucket of soapy water if you see them.
