Black leaves on pear trees

Asked May 29, 2018, 2:42 PM EDT

I have 3 types of pears I'm trying in my area. Red Bartlet, Bosc, and Sheckel. Trees seem to to well thru the first part of summer then the edges of the leaves turn black and die. Could you tell me the cause and solution?

Not enough information. Do just the edges of the leaves turn black or the whole leaf. It does not sound like fire blight which would kill the shoots as well. European red mites turn the leaves black. Windy conditions will cause the edges of young leaves to turn black. There are a couple of diseases that will cause black spots on the leaves pear scab and marsonia spot.and others.
