Small worm eating roses

Asked May 29, 2018, 12:30 PM EDT

Can you identify this small worm eating our roses and other plants. We do not use pesticides. Besides hand picking, is there anything we can do without harming birds, bees, etc?

Rose slugs are very common on roses. They are not actually slugs, but the larvae of sawflies. Click here for help and two organic solutions: http://extension.umd.edu/hgic/rose-slugs-shrubs
