Baltimore County Maryland houseplants bonsai miscellaneous

The stones should be put in the tray and the plant placed on the stones. Water should be poured in the tray no higher than the top of the stones.

This technique is usually used to provide a humid environment for the plant, as the water evaporates up around the plant.

We can't say exactly how you should water the bonsai. Contact the source of the plant. You need to water it and/or mist it. We might be able to be more specific if you can tell us the species of bonsai. See the attached for watering help: https://www.uaex.edu/yard-garden/home-landscape/docs/Bonsai%20Tree.pdf
