Prarie Lupine & Mystery Plant

Asked May 22, 2018, 3:50 PM EDT

Lupine looks stressed. I dont know what's wrong with it. I just put seeds down a couple years ago for fun. I have a nice clump now. Should I dig it up and try to find a new/better spot for it? Next to it is this other plant in abundance. I was thinking it was sweet William, but I'm not sure. It stayed green all winter.

Maybe you should do a soil test. Lupine don't tolerate poorly drained soil and prefer more of an acid soil. Here is a link to info about growing lupine. https://www.americanmeadows.com/wildflower-seeds/lupine-seeds/how-to-grow-lupine . It is difficult to say what the other plant is for sure. Does it bloom? It is much easier to say when it is blooming. It does look like it could be Sweet William.
