rotten potatoes

Hello, A few weeks ago I planted potatoes in trenches. Needless to say, after the amount of rain that we've had in the past month all of the seed potatoes rotted. I'm wondering if at this point it would be safe for me to fill the trenches and plant something else in the same spot, maybe between the rows where the potatoes were? Thanks!

Sorry to hear that. Yes, remove as much of the rotted seed potatoes as possible and plant whatever you like in that area. You don't need to avoid the planting trench. If you can find seed potatoes it's not too late to plant them.
