Norway spruce yellow tips

Asked May 21, 2018, 11:28 AM EDT

I have 3 norwaN spruce about 8 feet tall. They were transplanted 2 years ago at around 6-7 ft. New construction. I have noticed yellowing tips and needles dropping on lowest branches this spring. Idk what to do? Nutrients deficiency or fungus, etc?

It's natural for the branches of Norway spruce to droop. However, the yellow-green color and the rather sparse lower branches indicate the tree is having some difficulties.

As mentioned previously, you can sprinkle a small amount of an all-purpose garden fertilizer, such as 10-10-10, around each tree.

It's important to continue to water the trees during dry periods in 2018. A thorough watering once a week should be sufficient.
