Peach Trees

Asked May 21, 2018, 7:12 AM EDT

After all this rain finally stopped, I looked out thus AM and am watching the green leaves fall off the peach and cherry trees. What is going on. One peach tree is nearly devoid off leaves and they are just under it. It looks like a tornado or hurricane hit.

We would like to have more information. We cannot say if this is environmental, cultural, insect, or disease problems. Can you send us photos of the trees and the foliage ( on the trees and/or ground) so we can see what you may be dealing with. Let us know how old the trees are and how you manage them. Are you on a spray schedule for insects and diseases?

Stone fruits can be a challenge to grow as they are susceptible to several insect and disease issues such as peach leaf curl, cherry shot hole, brown rot, etc. The trees will eventually have to be managed with a spray schedule. See more on our website regarding care, common problems, and a spray schedule from VA Tech.
