This looks like a winged termite. http://extension.umd.edu/hgic/ant-vs-termite

Since the swarm was inside your home we recommend that you contact several pest control companies for an onsite inspection, Make sure there is no active infestation, and the best way to proceed. Here is some information on termites

The inspection company says they may be "swarming ants" since they have antennae that have "bent" elbows vs termites that have straight antennae. Thoughts?? They said they still need to identify the species in order to figure out how to treat them

You are correct. They are definitely ants. It is possible they may be field ants but cannot say for sure.
