Globe Arborvitae

Asked May 14, 2018, 5:39 PM EDT

Winter has been hard on my globe shaped shrubs. The late winter storm did a number on them. They are about 3 feet tall. They are located in the front of our house full south sun. After the snow melted it left a gap in the middle of each shrub! They never bounced back! Is there anything I can do? Help!!

You can take the coated green twine (sold at garden centers) and gently tie is together in the center. Leave it loose enough to look normal. The branches will eventually go back to their upright position but it might be worthwhile to keep the twine in place. Snow on top of them could flatten them again.

Thank you Barb! I so appreciate the advice, I will try it soon
