Canadian thistle control

Asked May 12, 2018, 2:03 PM EDT

This summer, I'm going to contend with the thistle with the cut and re-cut plan. However on numerous websites, I have seen recommendations to cut and then pour salt on the remaining stem. Does that make the cutting process more effective?

We do not have research on that aspect of thistle control, but Canadian thistle is known to be very tolerant of high salt concentrations.
